About us

Our story begins with Chef Kian, a Vietnamese boy with an undeniable love for cooking. In 2007, he came to the UK as an international student, and being far from home made him miss the flavors of Vietnamese food deeply. In 2015, during a visit to Vietnam, Kian had the chance to compete on the reality TV show “Master Chef Vietnam,” where his culinary skills earned him a spot in the top 6.

Viet Fusion since 2017

After returning to London, Kian’s passion for sharing authentic Vietnamese cuisine only grew stronger. In 2017, he opened his first restaurant, Viet Fusion in Southeast London. Around this time, Kian met Chinh, who would later become his wife. Chinh joined Kian on his journey to build and grow Viet Fusion, learning and overcoming the many challenges that come with running a startup. Together, they shaped Viet Fusion into the beloved restaurant it is today.

Urban Orient since 2019

In July 2019, Kian and Chinh expanded their culinary ventures by launching their second brand, Urban Orient, in London SE19. The restaurant quickly gained popularity, becoming a local favourite. Initially serving dine-in and collection orders, the pandemic in 2020 pushed Kian to introduce Urban Orient to online delivery platforms. This decision allowed the business to thrive during a difficult time, with the team proudly serving loyal takeaway customers and helping the restaurant survive.

Viet Corner since 2022

In September 2021, Kian and Chinh introduced their third brand, Viet Corner, in SW12 London. With its truly authentic Vietnamese flavours, Viet Corner quickly attracted a diverse local following, adding another success to their journey.
